4.  WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

When you submit an item, a Motonexus auction expert will review your submission before publishing it live for bidders to see.

We will do our best to review your submission within 24 hours. Reviewing new submissions can take a little longer when we have a backlog, around major holidays, and when we're out at auctions, charity events, or on personal time.

Please note that we have a strict policy on inappropriate content.

ANYONE POSTING INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT

WILL BE IMMEDIATELY BANNED, AND THE CONTENT DELETED

We should not need to detail inappropriate content, but here are a few examples; pornography, pictures with children, firearms, drugs, racism, or photos with racist logos or slogans.  We do not allow photos that show people, flags, or any symbols that represent a nation, organization, or group.  We will decline to post anything irrelevant to the purpose of this site.

Motonexus is an auction platform for buying and selling motorcycles, cars, trucks, and automotive memorabilia.   We don't run auctions for beanie babies, garage sales, cameras, watches, firearms, knives, or anything unrelated to motorcycles and cars.

Our auction experts want your auction to be a success, so in that effort, we look at the following:

  • Spelling

  • Grammar

  • Accuracy of the title

  • Accuracy of the description vs. photos

  • Does the submission contain any inappropriate content (immediate decline and ban)

  • Is the submission in the correct category

  • Is the reserve price too high? We may recommend a lower reserve

  • Are the images high resolution

  • Are the photos high quality (Please see our photos page)

  • Do the pictures show a bidder everything they want to see

  • Is the description detailed enough

  • The closing day and time.  If your auction ends at 6:00 pm on Valentine's Day or 7:00 am on Christmas Day, we will change the schedule to avoid that snafu.

Editing

Sellers may return to their auction and edit the description, add or delete photos, remove the reserve price, and more.  When you make an edit, the auction will be temporarily removed until a Motonexus auction expert reviews the new content.

When an auction ends

When an auction ends successfully, the final transaction will be determined by the seller's requirements, the amount of the transaction, any limits on the buyer's credit card or bank account, and whether shipping is required.

At the end of an auction, the buyer's credit card will be charged for the buyer's fee. Motonexus charges a 5% buyer's premium on the final bid amount.  A hold for the 5% fee should already be on the buyer's credit card.  If the buyer's premium fee is more than $500, the amount of the difference will be charged to the buyer's credit card.

example 1: $500 hold on credit card, $5,000 final bid = $250 buyer's premium, total price to buyer $5,250.  $250 is collected from the hold amount and the difference is automatically returned.

example 2: $500 hold on credit card, $10,000 final bid = $500 buyer's premium, total price to buyer $10,500.  $500 is collected from the hold amount.

No Escrow Requirement :

When a seller does not require an escrow to complete the financial transaction, the buyer will be required to pay the seller in full.  The delivery of the vehicle will need to be worked out between the buyer and seller.  The buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping.  Motonexus recommends that HaulBikes.com ship motorcycles.  A qualified auto transporter should transport cars with trailers purpose-built for auto transport. Shipping is not included in the price of the vehicle or the buyer's premium.

Escrow Required Auctions:

When a seller requires an escrow transaction, both parties must go to escrow.com and create a free account for the purchased vehicle.  The buyer will deposit the funds into the escrow account, and the buyer will arrange for transportation.  The buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping.  When the vehicle arrives, the buyer will notify escrow.com, and the funds will be released to the seller.  If the buyer does not inform escrow.com promptly and the shipper confirms the delivery, the buyer's funds should be released to the seller without the buyer's confirmation.  Esrcow.com will be responsible for the final decision to release funds.  Escrow.com has a standard fee based on the value of the transaction.  Motonexus recommends that the buyer and seller share the escrow cost since both parties benefit from the service.

Shipping:

BUYERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING COSTS

Before bidding on a vehicle, Motonexus recommends that buyers visit https://haulbikes.com/quote/ to get a free quote.  Haul bikes will deliver motorcycles to most areas in the 48 contiguous United States.

HaulBikes services a majority of the 48 contiguous states. Here’s the information they need: Where is it now? And where is it going? Our rates are based on mileage from pick up to delivery location.  There is an extra charge of $300 for tolls when picking up or delivering to Maine or Long Island. HaulBikes does NOT pick up or deliver to Key West, DC, or the five boroughs of New York City, Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island.

HaulBikes cannot service gated communities.  For pickup, the vehicle must be located where a semi-truck with a 40-foot trailer can easily maneuver.  Sellers are responsible for accommodating the shipper and getting the vehicle to a location where the vehicle can be safely picked up.  Buyers are responsible for shipping costs and on-site to take delivery at a location where the shippers truck can easily maneuver and safely park.

If a buyer plans to have the vehicle shipped to an international destination, Motonexus recommends that buyers contact Schumacher Cargo to get an estimate.  Schumacher can help with all the details for international shipments.  https://www.schumachercargo.com/motorcycle-shipping/
